A Florida vacation home’s lively decor features natural materials, colorful surprises and a nod to equestrian style

Like many vacation homes in Florida, this one was designed in a West Indies style with high rooflines that create lofty spaces. Inside, beamed ceilings and whitewashed walls provide a great mix of rustic touches and tropical vibes. The New Jersey family of four that purchased the house loves to head south to enjoy the sun, the water and equestrian pursuits.

Three themes drove the project: The owners wanted the interiors to be modern, use natural materials and nod to the equestrian, without putting anything with a horse on it in the decor.
