Sarasota Memorial’s New Cancer Pavilion: A $220 Million Investment in the Community

The Milman-Kover Cancer Pavilion brings advanced cancer treatment and comprehensive outpatient services to the heart of Sarasota.

Sarasota Memorial Hospital has reached another important milestone with the opening of its $220 million Milman-Kover Cancer Pavilion, a major addition to the Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute. Opened in June 2026, the seven-story, 200,000-square-foot facility brings together advanced cancer treatment, diagnostic services and patient support in one location on Sarasota Memorial’s main campus.

The new pavilion, located at 1941 Waldemere Street, represents a substantial investment in the healthcare infrastructure serving Sarasota and the surrounding region.

Comprehensive Cancer Care, Close to Home

Designed to make treatment more accessible and coordinated, the pavilion brings a wide range of outpatient oncology services together under one roof.

These include the Donna & Jon Boscia Breast Health Center, the Irwin L. Srob & George P. Salley Infusion Center, surgical oncology suites, radiation oncology, advanced imaging, genetic testing and counseling, and specialized oncology practices.

A pedestrian skybridge connects the pavilion to Sarasota Memorial’s eight-story Oncology Tower, which opened in 2021. Together, the facilities support patients through diagnosis, treatment, recovery and ongoing care.

The expansion is particularly significant in a region where population growth has increased demand for specialized medical services.

A Legacy of Sarasota Philanthropy

The Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute was established with foundational support from the Brian and Sheila Jellison Family Foundation. The new pavilion builds upon that commitment through significant philanthropic contributions, including the leadership support of Susan Milman.

Their generosity, together with the work of Sarasota Memorial’s healthcare professionals and community supporters, has helped bring a comprehensive cancer treatment center to Sarasota.

It is a reflection of something that has long distinguished this community: the willingness of individuals and families to invest in institutions that improve the lives of others.

An Investment in Sarasota’s Future

The opening of the Milman-Kover Cancer Pavilion represents more than an expansion of hospital facilities. It strengthens the medical services available to residents throughout Sarasota and Manatee counties, including those who have chosen the area for retirement or seasonal living.

Access to advanced healthcare is an important consideration in choosing where to live, particularly for individuals planning to make Sarasota their long-term home.

With continued investment in medical technology, research and patient services, Sarasota Memorial is contributing to the region’s growth as a place not only to enjoy life, but to build a lasting future.

The new pavilion stands as an example of what can be accomplished when healthcare leadership, philanthropy and community commitment come together.
